Here is a quick scenario. Lets pretend you are a single female living alone, a wierdo sends you a creepy message on facebook so you pick up your iphone and message him back LEAVE ME ALONE. you have your privacy settings for friends only and he is not a friend, he was the one that randomly messaged you. SO YOUR SAFE RIGHT?? WRONG!!!! HE NOW KNOWS EXACTLY WHERE YOU LIVE AND CAN STALK YOU! By default facebook messenger automatically defaults to sending gps location settings if you are using the mobile version of the iphone or android device.
As you saw in the video, for iOS users you will need to open Settings > Location Services and turn location off for Facebook Messenger.
For Android users, you can disable location in the Facebook Messenger app itself. Tap on the menu icon > Settings > Location Services and uncheck the box that enables location services for the app.
Q: SO NOW WHAT DO I DO IF I FOUND SOME PEOPLE I DIDN'T WANT TO SHARE MY LOCATION WITH???
A: you need to log in to facebook through a computer, then click on the message stream with that person, there is an actions tab click on that click on delete messages. chose the message with your location you would like to remove and its done.
Q: IT DELETED IT ON MY SIDE BUT WHAT ABOUT ON THEIR SIDE?
A: it deletes on both sides i double checked...
